Leeds Summer Group Show 2020

ALICE CHANDLER

Alice Chandler is an artist currently living in Leeds, UK.
Her practice explores the intersection between art, craft and design. She creates sculptural objects and, often site-specific, installations that build narrative and interrogate our relationship with the domestic, functional and wearable. Utilising a wide range of craft processes, from silversmithing and glasswork to printing, sewing and embroidery, she makes objects that, dependent on display and context, can be at once sculptural, functional or decorative. She graduated from Edinburgh College of Art, BA Sculpture, in 2015 and has recently been selected for the Tetley Artist's Associate Programme. Recent exhibitions include; Encountering Objects, Encountering Place, Assembly House, Leeds; Mantel, Copperfield Gallery, London; General Studies,Outpost, Norwich, and Lick and a Promise, The Trophy Room, Royal Standard Liverpool. She was shortlisted for Jerwood 3 Phase in 2017 and selected for RSA New Contemporaries, and the HIX Prize exhibition in 2016.
