GUY AUSTIN

Guy Austin is a self-taught painter working in an expressionist style. He started painting at the age of 50 and has been painting for six years. He likes to merge the figurative and the abstract, and is inspired by the American painter Philip Guston's statement "I don't want pictures, I want living things".
His work has been included in a number of group shows in London, Leeds, Halifax and online as part of Cultivate, and he has had a solo show in York.
