Jodie Anna Posen is a textile artist based in Leeds. She creates woven works that explore her love for colour texture and form. Interested in the way that different materials affect the character of her woven pieces, she uses linens, cottons and silks as the delicate warp yarns which are often blended with unconventional weft materials, such as finely cut foils and papers salvaged from discarded chocolate wrappers or unwanted shredded packaging materials. The warps are often dip-dyed with bright splashes of colour that meld together in gradients and stripes, resulting in polychromatic hanging pieces with intriguing embellishments, at times these are sheer and luxurious whilst at other times they are more solid and sculptural.
