MARIA LETSIOU
Maria Letsiou is a visual artist, educator, and researcher who was born in Greece. As a visual artist, she has participated in two biennials (Luleå ArtBiennial, LAB11, Sweden, 2011, and 9th Biennale of Young Artists in Europe, Rome, Italy, 1999) and she currently holds a Ph.D. degree in Art Education from the Athens School of Fine Arts.
Since 2011, Letsiou has participated in several international research projects organised by InSEA and in 2015, As a Fulbright visiting scholar, hosted by Prof. Paul Duncum (UIUC’s School of Art andDesign, USA), she researched video production and visual culture education. She continued her relationship with InSEA and in 2018 she was a member of the organisational committee of the InSEA seminar in the School of Early Childhood Education of Aristotle University in Greece. Her artworks have been presented in several solo and group exhibitions and her educational and artistic research focuses on issues of contemporary culture and identity.
She is currently teaching art education classes in the School of Early Childhood Education at Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, Greece.
