HELEN BOOTH
Helen is a British contemporary artist who works from her studio in Wales. Her abstract paintings explore the relationship between beauty and the human condition. Her residency in Iceland in 2020 has greatly informed her practice and these paintings are from a body of work she’s made in the last two years since returning. The work stems from a profound connection to the Icelandic landscape with its stripped-back, monochrome palette distilling nature into its simplest form. The work is both evocative of her experience in the country but also strives to capture the beauty.
In 2019 Helen received a Pollock Krasner Award from New York and was awarded one of 12 International Abstract Painting Awards from the Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Foundation in the USA. She has exhibited throughout the UK and her work is held in several private collections around the world.
