SARAH CONNELL
Sarah is a traditional analogue photographer who created this series of work as a botanical study during the Covid 19 lockdown. She created negatives from specimens collected during her morning walks and as she was unable to access the darkroom, she utilised the negative scanner to examine the individual specimens photographically. The series harnesses light to reveal the specimens hidden truth as incredible geometric patterns and shapes begin to form. As nature emerges from the shadows, the series provides us with a contemplative space to question our relationship with nature and the natural world that has often been overlooked.
Recent exhibitions include Warrington Contemporary Arts Festival, Warrington Museum & Art Gallery (2020), The Fronteer Open, Chapel Walk Gallery (2019), Lizard Point Artist Residency, Lumen Crypt (2019); Monochrome, The Glasgow Gallery of Photography (2019).
