JULIA POMEROY
(b. 1998 London, UK)
Julia Pomeroy is a studio holder at Assembly House in Leeds. Her practice elevates the rich energies emitted from contemporary figures within psychologically charged narratives and spaces. Using complimentary colour axes, her paintings contrast easily-missed beauty with the nauseating repetitiveness of our everyday. Her work captures unguarded states of mind and recognises the familiar alongside the often unknown, in our revolving lives. Her influences include Caroline Walker, Doron Langberg and Pierre Bonnard. She graduated from her BFA at Leeds Arts University with a 1st in 2020, and will be going to City and Guilds Art School, London, to complete an MFA this Autumn.
