LUCY WRIGHT
(b. 1985 Leicester, UK)
Lucy Wright’s work explores female solitude, the relationships between the human body and the landscape, and the consolations of non-anthropocentric sociabilities; often drawing on her background in folklore and large personal archive of female- and queer-led folk arts and customs. She received a Vice Chancellor’s PhD scholarship from Manchester School of Art (2014) and is a Visiting Research Fellow at University of Hertfordshire. Recent group shows include at Leeds Art Gallery (2023) and Broadway Gallery (2023) and commissions and awards include for Marchmont House (2023), A-N (2023), Compton Verney (2023) and Meadow Arts (2021). Lucy is based in Leeds, UK.
