IMOGEN PERKIN
Imogen’s work references a painting tradition of depicting people living and working in the town and its suburbs. The ambivalence of this relationship between the city and her inhabitants seems as relevant as ever. She is interested in the dominant shapes of architecture and machinery and how people relate to them and navigate through these spaces in their everyday lives.
Imogen is currently exhibiting as part of The New Light Prize, a touring exhibition for artists with a connection to the North of England, this concludes at the Bankside Gallery in London in November 2021.
