JANE WALKER

Jane makes 2-D work with lines. She is experimenting with the speed the lines are made at and altering the energy in the lines. These pieces of work are an example of the artists faster lines the lines are scratched through thick paint they are about sensing change. Jane draws cities often seen from a high viewpoint. She is interested in the patterns humans make on the planet from different distances. She changes the scale of buildings. She is interested in how far these patterns reach in time and space. Since doing a residency with musicians and artists in Portugal (2019) Jane discovered an interest in invisible lines. Some of the drawing pens she used worked intermittently; the sound of the drawing was being recorded. This has made her aware of the invisible connections and systems that make up a city.
