Martin Gittins is drawn to the tension that exists between the urban and rural, and creates work that blends real and imagined elements of both the built environment and the natural world. Living in the North York Moors National Park, he is inspired by the landscape of the moors and its contested relationship of nature and artifice. He is an emerging British landscape painter who works primarily in oils.
